A "TRUMP" sign was removed from private property overlooking a Los Angeles Freeway by Caltrans "because it was a distraction and a safety hazard." Critics are speculating it was taken down for political reasons.

"The swift removal of a massive 'Trump' sign in the style of the iconic Hollywood sign along the 405 Freeway in the Sepulveda Pass has some on social media calling foul." This according to a Oct. 7, 2020 article by CBSLA, which said, the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) took down the "unauthorized sign" because
"because it was a distraction and a safety hazard."

On the same day, California was celebrating Clean Air day and electronic signs were placed by Caltrans on the highways, all over the Southland. Apparently, Caltrans might be under the impression that a sign with 8 words is less distracting to drivers than a one word sign.
