President Trump Called Corona virus "Chinese virus"

A close-up photo of President Trump's notes for a White House press briefing has gone viral. The photo showed "Corona Virus" crossed out and "Chinese Virus" written over it. The President is receiving criticism for rebranding the corona virus.

The photo appeared in the Twitter feed of Jabin Botsford, according to a March 19, 2020 article by Business Insider.

After referring to the Corona virus as "Chinese virus" the President was confronted by a reporter. Business Insider said, "Trump told reporters on Tuesday that he called the coronavirus the 'Chinese virus' to hit back at the Chinese government for spreading the conspiracy theory that the American military was responsible for the initial outbreak in Wuhan, China, which is the epicenter of the crisis." The President continued, "I didn't appreciate the fact that China was saying that our military gave it to them." The article quoted Trump saying. "I think saying that our military gave it to them creates a stigma."

China's foreign affairs ministry spokesperson, Lijian Zhao, published a Twitter post alleging that the U.S. Army brought the virus to Wuhan, which started this conspiracy theory.
