Town council members of Los Alamitos voted 4-1 to exempt the city from California’s sanctuary law after a "heated testimony from residents on both sides of the issue," which lasted over two hours. This according to a March 19, 2018 article by the Orange County Register, which said someone from the audience "shouted out to Councilman Warren Kusumoto, who introduced the legislation, 'great American patriot!' while someone else screamed out 'America first.'”
