President
Obama was the commencement speaker at the U.S. Coast Guard Academy in
Connecticut on Wednesday, May 20, 2015 where he addressed graduating students,
faculty and family. The POTUS addressed his climate change concerns to the next
generation of maritime responders and told them, "Climate change constitutes a
serious threat to global security, an immediate risk to our national security."
The President continued, "and, make no mistake, it will impact how our military defends our country. And so we need to act— and we need to act now.”
