Nancy Pelosi Said She Did Not Know Jonathan Gruber, Yet in 2009 She Touted His Work

With the recent news of Affordable Care Act Architect, MIT Professor Jonathan Gruber, boasting on video how stupid the American voters were and how the lack of transparency within the Obama Administration was a huge political advantage to pass the bill, House Minority Leader, Nancy Pelosi, denied ever hearing about him. In 2009 she touted his qualifications.

Congresswoman Nancy Pelosi Pelosi spoke at a press conference and tried to downplay Gruber’s role in the design of the Affordable Care Act. She then went on to say that she didn’t know who the man who was caught on several tapes that "surfaced showing him gloating about how the law was written to take advantage of the stupidity of the American voter." This according to a November 13, 2014 article by Fox News.

When she was Speaker of the House, Rep Pelosi used Gruber's analysis to debunk myths about the health care bill she worked so hard to promote in 2009. The Internet page was taken down when the GOP took over the House of Representatives but an archived caught the evidence. Click for archive.
