The reports are not confirmed according to a Nov. 2, 2016 article by the Washington Times. The article said that local sources told the Times, "“Several US-made missiles were found in al-Shoura region to the South of Mosul.”
The Times cited unverified reports from the Iranian news agency, Alalam, which said, "apparently the weapons have been routinely dropped from aircraft resupplying the area,"
