A Virginia school in Accomack County has banned “The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn” and “To Kill a Mockingbird.” This according to a Dec. 3, 2016 article by Reuters, which said, complaints from one student’s parents has ignited "debates if the classical novels are acceptable."
Chris Holland, the Superintendent of Public School in Accomack County, told reporters that a "white parent of a biracial high school student" complained about the ethnic slurs in the books, which resulted in their suspension.
