The New York Times reported that a memo was sent to staffers from Al Anstey, “I know the closure of AJAM will be a massive disappointment for everyone here who has worked tirelessly for our long-term future. The decision that has been made is in no way because AJAM has done anything but a great job.”
The network was also plagued by a lawsuit with allegations that it had "abandoned neutrality in favor of Arab viewpoint." This according to a June 11, 2015 article by Britain's Guardian.
