The reports are real, according to a November 17, 2014 article by Fox News that said, the marriage license was issued by Kings County and viewed Monday by The Associated Press after it was issued on Nov. 7. Mason, age 80, plans to marry Afton Elaine Burton, "who left her Midwestern home nine years ago and moved to Corcoran, California." Burton operates a number of websites that advocate Manson's innocence, who is serving a life term.
In 1969, Southern California was terrorized Manson and his cult after the reports of two grisly murders incidents in the Los Angeles area. The most known victim of the Manson cult was actress Sharon Tate, who was eight and a half months pregnant and married to director Roman Polanski. Forensic detectives found the word "PIG" on the home's front door, and after their investigation discovered it had been written in the blood of Sharon Tate.
The victims were Sharon Tate, Jay Sebring, Steven Parent, Abigail Folger, Wojciech Frykowski, Leno Labianca, Rosemary Labianca, and Baby Paul Richard Polanski.
