This is an urgent warning not to open any message with an attachment called,
"BLACK MUSLIM IN THE WHITE HOUSE." It alleges of a
virus that opens an Olympics torch that burns the whole hard disk C: of
your computer. This virus comes from a known person who you have in your list.
The warning urges the reader to forward it to everyone on his contacts list.
Other known variations of this warning are "Black in the White House," "Facebook
Invitation," "Invitation," "Virtual Card for You," and "Olympic Torch."
iRumorMill.com Determination: HOAX
The warning is a hoax according to the anti-virus software
maker
McAffee. We checked with another source,
Sophos Naked Security, who advises not to forward such emails just because
the say so. Sophos also pointed out that the false warning claimed that it was
verified by Snopes, which actually said it was a hoax.
This warning has been around since about 2010 and comes in various forms because
someone took the body of the warning and changed the name of the attachment.
If you get such a warning, respond to the sender, tell him that it is a hoax.
